Abstract

The successful learning process can be found in several various ways such as teaching students about moral values, strategies, and methods related to the material used. Moral value teaching resources, such as novels, must be acceptable and current. The goal of this study is to identify the moral values found in the novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. The researcher utilized a qualitative descriptive design with content analysis methodologies in this study to assess the novel's moral values were employed. The novel is divided into eleven sections which tell about the adventure of Tom Sawyer. According to the findings of data analysis, researchers discovered three characteristics of moral values in the novel: honestly, forgiveness, and society’s outsiders. Researcher can conclude that students can use these moral values in their daily lives. In accordance with the 2013 curricular achievements, novels can be employed as an engaging medium to communicate moral values to students.
